A Historic Milwaukee Wedding Venue Overlooking Lake Michigan
Located at 2900 S Shore Drive in Milwaukee's South Shore Park, South Shore Pavilion offers a distinctive setting for weddings, receptions and private celebrations.
The historic Cream City brick building features beautiful architectural details, vaulted ceilings and more than six large windows overlooking Lake Michigan.
With a capacity of approximately 210 guests, the pavilion provides flexibility for both intimate gatherings and larger wedding celebrations.
The venue includes tables and chairs, a kitchen, a permanent bar area, restrooms and convenient vendor access. Its open layout also gives hosts the freedom to customize their celebration with their own decorations, seating arrangements and event features.
Tavern Team has provided bar service for weddings ranging from fewer than 50 guests to more than 200 guests at South Shore Pavilion.

One advantage of choosing Tavern Team is that our bartenders are familiar with the space before they arrive at your event.
South Shore Pavilion features a permanent concession-style bar with two connected service areas, each accessible from a different part of the venue.
For larger celebrations, we generally recommend using the entrance-side bar. This area provides additional working space, back counters and an excellent location for guests to approach the bar comfortably.
The opposite side can then be used for a buffet, snacks or another event station.
The connected kitchen also makes it easy for our team to store and access backup beverages and supplies throughout the evening.
Rather than spending your event day figuring out an unfamiliar bar layout, our team can arrive with a clear understanding of how to make the space work efficiently.

For larger weddings, cocktail hour can be the busiest part of the evening.
When your ceremony is held at South Shore Pavilion, guests often head to the bar at approximately the same time. An additional bartender or barback may be helpful during that initial rush.
For weddings with more than 180 guests, we can discuss whether extra support makes sense based on the location of your ceremony, expected attendance and timeline.
Tavern Team also offers optional cocktail servers and bussers for hosts looking for additional event support.

Yes! You are not required to purchase your alcohol from Tavern Team.

South Shore Pavilion is a Milwaukee County-owned venue where hosts of qualifying private events can provide their own beer, wine and liquor.

Tavern Team offers two convenient approaches.
Option 1:
Bring Your Own Alcohol
Purchase your own beer, wine and liquor from your preferred retailer, and hire Tavern Team to provide professional bartending services.
This is a popular option for South Shore Pavilion weddings because it allows couples to choose their preferred brands and control their beverage purchases.
Option 2:
Purchase Alcohol Through Tavern Team*
Prefer a beverage package? We offer beer-and-wine, beer/wine/rail-liquor, and beer/wine/call-liquor options.

​Tips for Planning Your South Shore Pavilion Wedding
South Shore Pavilion is a beautiful and flexible Milwaukee wedding venue. Here are a few things we've learned that can help make your celebration run more smoothly.
1. Plan Enough Time for Cleanup
Your South Shore Pavilion rental period includes setup, your celebration and the time required to complete cleanup. If your reception ends at 10:00 PM, plan enough rental time for your bartenders, caterer, DJ and other vendors to finish their responsibilities and leave the venue. We generally recommend allowing at least one hour after the final song for cleanup.
2. Make the Most of Cocktail Hour
If your ceremony takes place inside South Shore Pavilion, guests can enjoy cocktail hour while the reception space is being prepared. The surrounding park and beautiful Lake Michigan views create an inviting setting for guests to gather, take photos and enjoy a drink.
3. Consider the Bar Location
South Shore Pavilion has two connected bar openings. We often recommend the entrance-side bar for larger weddings because it offers ample space for guests and provides additional working room for bartenders. The other side can be used for food service, snacks or another event station.
4. Plan for Parking and Guest Arrival
South Shore Pavilion is located in a public park, so parking can be busier during peak park hours. Street parking is generally available within a short walk, and guests can be dropped off near the entrance. For larger celebrations, consider sharing parking and arrival information with guests ahead of time.

Hiring Tavern Team earlier in the planning process gives us more opportunities to help with your beverage service, staffing and wedding timeline. Our packages begin with six hours of bartending service, and we can discuss the schedule that makes the most sense for your celebration. You don't need to have every detail finalized before reaching out.

Hiring Tavern Team means more than having someone pour drinks.
Our bartenders arrive approximately 75–105 minutes before service, depending on the package and event requirements, to prepare the bar for your guests.
Throughout the event, our team takes care of beverage preparation, restocking, guest service and responsible alcohol service.
At the conclusion of the evening, we handle bar cleanup, breakdown, bar-related trash and beverage-related bussing. We'll also pack your remaining beverages into their original boxes and organize them for you to take home.
Our service includes attention to the details that can otherwise become the host's responsibility.
